have just found this wonderful site, I am looking forward to learning lots about Standies.These are wonderful horses cant believe more people arent getting on the Standie bandwagon. I grew up riding horses but i was ever lucky enough to own one my father always found an excuse not to get one.After i was married my husband had two horses so i was lucky enough to continue with my love affair with horses. That was many years ago and both horses passed away,I finally got my very own horse in December 08 from a friend of a friend that rehomes Standies I cant say enough about my horses he is just the best.Will post pictures soon.
My husband was so taken with my horse that we now have two Standies.My horse is named Ranger( he came with the name Rodney just couldnt keep that name)he is 9 years old and is 16H and is Black and my husband horse is a Bay called Bobby who is 12yrs and 16.1H
