Harding searching for century - five short
Leading South Australian State driver David Harding has his eyes set on a century of winners less than five months into the season when he takes to the track this weekend after recently breaking through the 1100 career win barrier.
On the back of a treble on Monday which included his 1100th career winning drive aboard Pugslee The Pony, Harding has a good chance of picking up the century this Friday or Saturday night.
Harding is sitting on 95 winners for the season so far from just 260 drives and at the current rate should easily eclipse his highest mark of 176 in the 06/07 season.
With a very enviable strike rate of 36.5 wins from every 100 drives, Harding continues to dominate the driving ranks in South Australia, nearly 60 wins clear of his nearest rival in Danielle Hill.
Harding will be looking to start the weekend on a good note when he partners strong chances Tiger O'Reilly, Dionysus Gold, Final Answer on Friday night at Globe Derby along with Havelock Hanover who is returning from a spell after having won his previous four starts.
Saturday night sees Harding line up another good book of drives including Mega Haul, Massarua, Timequest and Pugslee The Pony.
Harding has won almost $3million in stakes from his 1102 wins and over 1500 placings and continues to improve with each season of racing making each season better than the last.
The eight race card starts on Friday night at Globe Derby at 6:35pm SA time while Saturdays seven race card kicks off at 6:21pm SA time.
